The animals in our family

They are part of the family.

The birds and our horse bring a lot of personality, responsibility, work, noise, and joy into our lives.

The flock

They notice everything.

Our parrots are not decorations in our home. Each one has a very different personality, along with favorite foods, routines, moods, and opinions. They have no trouble making those opinions known.

Living with parrots takes patience and attention. They depend on us for everything, and that responsibility is real. So is the fun of sharing a home with animals this intelligent and curious.

Life with a horse

A very different kind of relationship.

Caring for a horse is physical work. It also takes consistency, patience, respect, and the ability to pay attention to signals that can be easy to miss.

A horse and a parrot could not be more different, but both make it very clear that trust has to be earned. I'll add their names, photographs, and individual stories here.
